Country Manager (Japan)

NYSE TransactTools, a wholly owned subsidiary of NYSE Euronext (NYSE Euronext: NYX), delivers the broadest range of flexible end-to-end solutions for connecting enterprise systems, routing transactions, translating and validating messages, monitoring and analyzing real-time business activity, and testing high-performance trading applications.  Providing core technology to 17 of the 20 largest securities firms in the world, in addition to providing communications infrastructure to hundreds of other firms, NYSE TransactTools is the leading provider of connectivity for the largest global liquidity pool.  NYSE TransactTools has offices in New York, London, Singapore and Hong Kong and a development center in Pune India.

In response to industry interest, NYSE TransactTools is expanding Asia operations and opening an office in Japan.  We are looking for talented, experienced and energetic professionals to help us build our business in the region.  

Country Manager (CM) - Japan

The Country Manager - Japan is responsible for developing the NYSE TransactTools business in Japan and Korea.  The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the brand building and solution sales process.  While the NYSE TransactTools Japan presence is new, the company has a number of high profile customers in the region and it is expected that a significant amount of new business will be generated through successful management of these existing accounts.

Based in Tokyo, the CM will report on a day-to-day basis to the regional managing director and will have a functional reporting line to the global head of sales in NY.  The CM will work very closely with our technical "architects" (either in Tokyo or near shore in Pune) to develop customer oriented solutions around our core platform.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • 5+ years of solution selling in the financial services enterprise software space.
  • Specific experience in front office, trading related systems and of the Tokyo trading community are a distinct advantage.
  • FIX exposure/experience is an advantage.
  • Experience in new market development and/or a start-up environment is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills - the ability to listen and accurately record and map customer's business requirements to functional components of the TCM platform.
  • The ideal candidate will be a Japanese national with excellent spoken and written English.
  • Commercial negotiation experience - experience managing the negotiation process and closing contracts valued at greater than US $200k.
  • Self starter- comfortable working and producing in an environment with minimal day-to-day direction and oversight.  Experience of operating in a start-up regional office environment a distinct advantage.
  • Solid understanding of technology from a functional, component point of view, i.e., comfortable representing functionality at a business "C" level meeting.

Java Engineer (New York)

Overview

The NYSE TransactTools product development team is responsible for TCM (Trading Connectivity Management), the industry leading high performance enterprise messaging and exchange connectivity platform.

We provide solutions for connecting enterprise systems, routing transactions, translating and validating messages, monitoring and analyzing real-time business activity, and testing high-performance trading applications. We practice a Scrum/eXtreme Programming (XP) based development methodology.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work within the development team, whose overall role is the on-going design, implementation and support of our TCM product.
  • Assist the team’s architect to define design of new features and re-design of existing code.
  • Actively participate in project planning meetings with the development team and the product strategy team.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years Object Oriented Development preferably including Java experience.
  • Some familiarity with network programming (sockets), threading, and synchronization.
  • Must have strong communication skills, with the ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Prior experience working on an eXtreme Programming/Agile team preferred.
  • Java-based web applications experience (Servlets, JSP, Struts, Javascript) optional.

Senior Java Engineer (New York)

Financial Services Tech. Consultant (New York, Chicago, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo)

Seeking world-class consultants for professional services group. Qualified candidates must have deep technical experience with Java/Javascript and commonly adopted financial protocols (i.e., FIX). They should also have industry expertise in the securities business working with electronic trading solutions. Candidates must have strong customer relationship skills and customer-facing experience in delivering business solutions through technology. Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary. Candidates should have some leadership experience in the implementation of financial technology applications at a team leader, project leader or technical project leader level.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Working with customers to understand and document technical and business requirements
  • Developing implementation plans
  • Installing and implementing software according to customer specifications
  • Integrating software with customer applications, including Java development
  • Working closely with other departments (i.e., Engineering, Customer Support) to ensure a tight implementation of the solution and a smooth transition to production
Required Qualifications
  • Programming experience in Java
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in the financial services industry
  • Ability to understand customer's requirements and to implement technology solutions according to those requirements
  • FIX protocol experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
